  1. MFCOST contains two financial justification tools.  The first is a set
  2. of slides which illustrates the cost savings either experienced or
  3. estimated for five mainframe alternative deals. The slides include:

  19. The second is a financial justification model called FOCUS which was
  20. developed by Tom Stewart of the Finance & Remarketing Division. This
  21. model has been distributed to all Sales Finance Reps.  The model allows
  22. you to complete a cost analysis and justification for a Mainframe
  23. Alternative proposal.  The model is very comprehensive and requires
  24. detailed information on the target customer installation.

  26. To use the model print the instructions in part 3 of this package.
  27. Next, download the files FOCUS.WK and FOCUS.ALL from part 4 and 5 of
  28. this package. The files run in LOTUS 123.  A good first step is to use
  29. Part 1 of the instruc- tions to load the model.  After loading the
  30. model, the customer input forms should be printed as a template of the
  31. information needed from the customer to do a complete analysis.
